Currently, The Village of Tansley Woods is a 144-bed Long Term Care home licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and funded through the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) via the Long-Term Care Home Service Accountability Agreement (L-SAA). When the Retirement Living Phase is completed in 2012, The Village of Tansley Woods will be Burlington's unique continuum of care community for seniors offering Independent Living, Full Service Retirement Living, Assisted Care and Memory Care.
Our communities are designed as a village. Like a traditional village, we will have a variety of common areas and amenities along our Main Street and in the Village Square. However, because the Village is indoors, it remains comfortable in any weather, winter or summer, rain or shine.
Residents can choose from cozy studios that emphasize care to generous one or two bedroom apartments that emphasize independence.
Apartments and Retirement Suites offer private bathrooms and kitchenettes or full kitchens. All incorporate senior-friendly features like oversized showers, some with modified bathtubs with grab bars. All are well-equipped with sprinklers, fire, safety and emergency response systems, and are staffed by people fully trained in emergency procedures.
Four levels of care will be offered in our Retirement Living Phase:
INDEPENDENT LIVING
Designed for those seeking to enjoy an active, fulfilling life without worrying about household chores. This lifestyle option allows you to choose a spacious one or two bedroom suite. This level provides weekly linen and housekeeping, repair and maintenance services. Underground parking and storage is available. Residents have full access to all recreational and entertainment events. Apartments include full kitchens and washer/dryer. Meal plans can be added if desired. Registered nursing staff will be on site 24 hours a day.

RETIREMENT APARTMENTS
Retirement Living will be available to those seeking the support they need in order to maintain their independence. Light assistance in such daily activities as dressing, bathing and medication administration is available. Spacious studios and one bedroom suites are available and include linen laundry, meals, housekeeping and full access to all amenities and events on Main Street.
FULL SERVICE RETIREMENT LIVING
ASSISTED CARE
Our Assisted Care Floor will provide suites in a nurturing environment for those residents who have higher physical care needs. Comprehensive care with activities of daily living will be provided around the clock by our well trained compassionate care staff.
MEMORY CARE
Our Supportive Care Floor will be designed for those residents with memory loss. This program offers care and recreational programs specifically designed for those with Alzheimers Disease and other related forms of Dementia. This floor will be a secure environment and our well trained compassionate care staff are specially trained to care for those with memory loss.
LONG TERM CARE
Our existing Long Term Care Home provides high quality care in specialized home environments, depending on your care needs and medical diagnosis. These include a home area specifically designed for those with Alzheimers, a home area for behavioural support as well as home areas for persons whose care needs are primarily physical in nature, including young adults.
