Our Williamsburg neighbourhood has a story

It has been a vision of Ron Schlegel to build communities that encourage a sense of community, foster relationships and have many walkable amenities and shared open spaces.

A model of his vision for age friendly communities can be found in south Kitchener - a community called Williamsburg. This area has a main street with many shops, services and restaurants - everything from a hardware store, a doctor's office, a community centre to a grocery store. This main hub is surrounded with family homes with a longer term goal to expand these neighbourhoods to include senior-friendly bungalows and apartments. Ultimately Williamsburg will be a complete walkable community for all ages to foster a greater sense of togetherness and to enable seniors to get the support they need in a close knit community.
