At Schlegel Villages, we seek a life-enriching experience for those who live and work with us, which is why we’re moving to new staffing models, featuring Flex Scheduling and Dedicated Support. Our new approach to scheduling – expanding in our older Villages and established in our new ones – allows for greater work-life balance and more full-time opportunities, while dedicated support fosters deeper relationships.
These relationships are the core of our mission, for they are what bring joy to each neighbourhood, and they begin with our neighbourhood team members. We want to hire the best people, provide the best training and education, and support them with the best leadership. Our commitment to these objectives creates a culture and environment of positive engagement on our journey to change the way care and support is offered for those who need it most.

Our team is made up of family, with each member offering unique abilities, beliefs, strengths and traditions, and this diversity is celebrated and honoured in every Village. It is important that within our team culture, each individual is able to thrive in the quest for ongoing growth, all in the collective spirit of full-Village support.
At Schlegel Villages, growth opportunities abound, and as we expand, we strive to develop seven out of every 10 new leaders from within. Ongoing education is encouraged and supported, and hard work is certainly recognized. Featured Village Opportunities
Coming to Stouffville
The Village of Stouffer Mills will be the next new Village in our expanding family to open, with hopes of welcoming new residents in the spring of 2027. Our leadership team is in place and as of October, they are meeting with existing team members from other Villages looking to be part of the new foundation. By mid-November, we hope to open up all opportunities for new roles.
Coming to Ottawa
We are thrilled to bring Village Life to the nation’s Capital, and we look forward to welcoming our first residents by the summer of 2027. With that in mind, several opportunities for leadership roles in the Village opened up in mid-October, and we’re eager to connect with people who not only have the skill to manage a Village, but the heart and the mindset for true relationship-centred service.
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) provide exceptional professional nursing care while fostering deep and meaningful relationships with residents, their families and the Village team. As critical bridges to the delivery of holistic care, they support and provide resident-centred nursing assistance with a focus on flexible living and life quality for the people we are proud to serve.
Nurse Practitioner
Nurse Practitioners combine advanced clinical expertise with genuine compassion and connection. They take the time to truly know each individual and their family, helping guide them through care decisions, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, holistic care. Our NPs play a vital role in the health and wellness of residents through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
Food Services
Our Food Services Aides (FSA) take tremendous pride in creating enjoyable mealtimes in the Villages for those we serve. Note that Food Service workers in Retirement are required to have a current Safe Food Handlers Certificate and their Smart Serve Certification, while those in LTC must have a Food Service Worker Diploma or equivalent education.
