Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) Pathway

If you are an Internationally-Educated Nurse (IEN), we are excited that you have come to our site and are interested in working with Schlegel Villages, one of Canada’s leading seniors care providers.

We have 18 Villages across Ontario where team members, residents and their loved ones are like family. We are proud to have people from all around the world living and working with us, and we celebrate how this diversity makes our communities stronger.

  • We have many paid positions available for IENs while they study for their nursing exams;
  • We can offer flexible schedules to support IENs with study or exam times;
  • We have a partnership with CARE for IENs to help navigate the licensing process;
  • We offer Supervised Practice Experience Partnership (SPEP) to help IENs learn and practice skills within the Village
  • We offer mentorship with licensed internationally-educated nurses;
  • We have an online community group for all IENs within Schlegel Villages;
  • We offer financial assistance to support the licensing process.

Since 2022, we have welcomed Internationally-Educated Nurses and many have completed their certification and are now working with us as nursing professionals. We helped settle these new family members in their new communities and are eager to help many more into the future.
