"Volunteering with the Arthritis Society helped me turn my diagnosis into a way to help myself and others. It's not about being a savior, it's about encouraging others to push themselves out of their comfort zones and live their best lives."
Rhoda Nunn discovered her passion after being diagnosed with arthritis in her 40s. Rhoda took control and educated herself on her condition, joining exercise classes and the Blue Birds Club, where she became a committee member. She volunteered with The Arthritis Society, participating in trials and educating herself on the latest treatments.
Rhoda impacted many through her volunteerism, encouraging some to push beyond their comfort zones and helping others through depression. She found that the more she helped others and herself, the healthier she became.
Rhoda's advice to others is to educate themselves about what they are passionate about and to take action. Her story is a testament to the power of taking control of one's situation and finding fulfillment in helping others.
