Featuring our Campaign Photographer & Makeup Artist

We are grateful to work with photographer, Christine Kufske and make-up artist, Amy Jaynes-Stickney who toured each of the villages to capture the amazing residents' photos and passions for the Pursuit of Passions x #ElderWisdom exhibit.

Chris discovered her passion for photography at a young age when she became the “family photographer,” receiving her first camera from her Nana at age 10.

brother’s wedding in Italy in 2001, a moment that made her realize photography was her true calling.
Photography has become more than just a job to her—it’s a passionate pursuit that Chris is grateful to engage in every day.

Chris feels that being part of this exhibit, specifically with the residents of Schlegel Villages, has been a truly memorable and rewarding experience. She has always held deep appreciation and respect for the wisdom of our elders and is honoured that they trusted her to capture their essence in such a meaningful way.

For those looking to pursue a passion in photography, Chris’ advice is simple: practice, practice, practice. She suggests to embrace mistakes as learning opportunities and, above all, have fun along the journey. Chris believes that passion combined with dedicated practice will pave the way to improvement and success in these creative fields.

Amy discovered her passion for makeup in high school when she was asked to do her friend’s makeup.

To excel at her craft, she embraced trial and error, studied the work of fellow artists, and practiced on as many faces as possible. Amy believes that becoming skilled at something requires experiencing failure and constantly learning, which she continues to do.

Amy’s passion for makeup led her to be part of our exhibit featuring the residents of Schlegel Villages. This experience has been a significant milestone in her career. She learned the valuable lesson that age should not create divisions among people. Amy thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the residents and engaging in meaningful conversations with them.

When it comes to pursuing a passion for makeup artistry, Amy advises others to go for it. She acknowledges that in creative fields, not everyone will appreciate your work, but it’s essential to not let rejection or criticism deter you from doing what brings you joy.
