Submit Grandparents Day Stories

Grandparents Day was first instituted in the United States in 1978 and is now recognized by many other international countries. In Canada, Grandparents Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in September.

The day has three primary purposes:

  1. To honour grandparents.
  2. To give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children's children.
  3. To increase children's, grandchildren's and all youth's awareness of the strength, wisdom, information and guidance older people can offer.

Celebrating Grandparents at Schlegel Villages

Submit your story, photo, or video into the form below about why your grandparent is the grandest and be entered into our draw.  Each entry will be added to our entries page and could be shared across our social media.  One random entry will win a Grand Story written by our Village Voice story teller, Kristian, who will capture the special connection between grandchild and grandparent(s). (Entries accepted from Friday, August 16th to Monday, September 9th at 5pm)

Print or pick up a colouring page from a village if you would like to draw a picture to tell your story.
